Welcome Message
Dear Esteemed Colleagues,
The 52nd annual meeting of the Japanese Society of Toxicology (JSOT) will be held in the Okinawa Convention Center (OCC) from July 2nd (Wed) to 4th (Fri), 2025. The OCC was selected as the venue for the first time in 15 years, as the Sendai International Center will be closed for major renovations. As shown in the annual meeting poster, Okinawa, located in the center of East Asia, is an extremely attractive venue that will bring together not only members of our society, but also toxicology researchers from other Asian countries. Okinawa has an ecosystem with rare and unique natural toxins and products, and we hope that this annual meeting will revitalize toxicological research into these substances.
The JSOT, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2023, has contributed greatly to the development of toxicological sciences, together with the Society of Toxicology (SOT) and the European Society of Toxicology. In particular, in 1994, in cooperation with the Korean Society of Toxicology (KSOT), the JSOT established the Asian Society of Toxicology (ASIATOX) which includes the Chinese Society of Toxicology, the Thai Society of Toxicology, and the Toxicology Society of Taiwan. Currently, JSOT is bringing together eight organizations and aggressively pursuing activities as a leader in Asia. The theme of this annual meeting is "Diversity in Toxicological Sciences for Sustainable Environments and Human Health" We aim to provide an international annual meeting where domestic toxicological research scientists can meet with toxicological research scientists from SOT and ASIATOX, and where the latest information in the toxicological sciences can be collected and opinions can be actively exchanged.
The 52nd annual meeting will feature oral and poster presentations, special lectures, educational lectures, symposia, and luncheon seminars. Other notable features included a symposium by the Chairman of ASIATOX, a joint symposium with KSOT, and a symposium focusing on young and female toxicological research scientists, which was also held at the 51st annual meeting. In addition, nature classes for kids are offered for the first time. We also plan to provide free childcare services and are working to promote diversity by aiming to create family friendly annual meetings.
Early July, just after the end of the rainy season, is the perfect time to enjoy early summer in Okinawa, and the Ginowan Tropical Beach in front of the venue offers a view of dazzling white sands and cobalt-blue seas. We sincerely hope that this annual meeting will be a great success. We look forward to the participation of JSOT members and sincerely appreciate their support.
With warm regards,
President of the 52nd annual meeting of JSOT
